In December of 2022

I had the idea to make a series of color pinhole photographs in a stereo view initially for holiday cards for family and friends. I wanted to use two Instax mini films mounted side-by-side in my homemade pinhole cameras exposed at the same time and allowed to go where they went as two views of the subject, split one frame to the next or at times independent of each other given the exposure and coverage of each camera. For the physical cards, digital scans and printing I created the layout frames in Gimp giving a small amount of separation span between the images. As with pinhole technique in my opinion, I allowed the glitches and artifacts to be part of the final image within reason. Though this project started for the holiday season I found myself still inspired by it in the new year and have culled down to these displayed with a few others, with the idea of producing a photo book. As a sidebar I have recently created another camera to make 8x10 black and white images. I’ve tried a couple sets of parallel 5x7 paper negatives in the same exposure leading me to consider this idea in black and white. One of those is on the Black and White Pinhole page at the bottom.

Talking about my pinhole cameras and current work!
