Homemade cameras, some math and magic!

After working with my 4x5 view camera for a while I began to wish for a wider angle lens. I had but the standard 150mm lens for it at the time and wasn’t ready to drop the cash for another lens yet. The desire went from experimenting with a pinhole insert on my view camera to a fascination with building pinhole cameras out of box tops, card stock and aluminum foil. I have since built 8 cameras all from these simple materials and have used standard sheet film, x-ray film, Direct Positive photographic paper, Instax color instant film, 35mm film and photographic darkroom enlarging paper yielding a paper negative. This latter has been the most fascinating to me.
